Great Resource for Vegan recipes

Lots of wonderful vegan dishes from Dr. Mcdougall and his wife Mary. This is an app Ill use everyday.

Love it!

Easy to use and has lots of recipes. I can pull up recipes while at the store and buy the ingredients that I need without having to worry if Ive forgotten something! I also like the feature of search for a recipe based on which ingredients I have on hand.

Very good but....

I like the simplicity of the UI design. I love the large recipe base but theirs one problem that stands out the search feature doesnt work-if I type onion or any single ingredient it turns no results. Im not sure if this happen with named recipes. I would like to see ingredient search capable. Theirs no categories between vegan or vegetarian however recipes seem to be animal free. This app offers frugal means of ingredients as using can goods verses whole or fresh frozen which is nice for tight budgets. I recommend it. Please update the search and more healthy content Ill gladly increase my star rating.

Very useful

This cookbook features the vegan, low-fat recipes that people who want to become healthy and slim (and stay that way) want and need! I can look things up while Im shopping, and avoid forgetting some ingredient I need. :-)

Incredible Value!

To get all of these recipes for such a low price is an amazing deal. We have all of the McDougall cookbooks and they cost a LOT more than this app. These recipes are very well thought out and tested, not just thrown together. If youre serious about your health, this app could literally be a lifesaver. Thank you Mary :)

Wonderful!

Dr. McDougall (his wife no less) put flavor in vegan food that is easy to prepare! This is a wonderful accomplishment! I look forward to an update that improves the search function.

Love the app but needs a "browse" button

I love this app, its my new go-to recipe app, but I would really love to see a "BROWSE" button that would allow me to flip through all the recipes available so I can more easily try new recipes.

Good complement to Dr. McDougalls books, needs universal / native iPad support update

While having the recipes from a dozen+ Mc Dougall diet cookbooks at hand while contemplating a produce section makes this app a tremendous bargain, it still doesnt have native iPad support. The iPad interface is just the iPhone/iPod emulation mode, with very pixelized text at 2x magnification. The app would benefit from a native iPad mode, proofreading or search/replacing the errant markup characters in many recipes, and especially a shopping checklist. I suggest the developers look at the Whole Foods recipe app or Mark Bittmans How to Cook Everything apps for pointers on how to make a cookbook app really shine on iOS devices. I can do without the pretty pictures or ktchen timers, but clean looking text for browsing at home is a must.

Absolute Must for Healthy Cooking

This is a great application with many of the McDougalls best recipes. The app needs a few things for 5 stars...a browse button and native iPad support. As an alternative to a new cooking app, Id love to be able to just import the recipes to Paprika so I could also create shopping lists and use these recipes with all my other healthy choices.

Good Stuff

Great for the most part but needs some work. For example: when you leave the app to read a text or something, you have to start over each time; it doesnt leave off where you were. Also, in the search feature I typed oats, and the results came back with boats, as well as oats.

Where is the browse button?

There is a picture of a browse button and it is even marked as updated with a browse feature on app store site but it doesnt exist. What good is 800+ recipes if you have to know their names to find them. Please correct ASAP

No browse button

I am sure this has great receipes, however unless you know the exact name it useless. Update the browsing function please.

Great App

Now that the browse button has been added, I have no complaints. Tons of McDougall recipes all in one place. My new go to cookbook. Awesome!

Good app, but where are the other recipes?

I admire Dr. McDougalls life-saving work, but this app still needs a little work. For example, the apps description states that it has 800+ recipes, but when one clicks the Browse button one "only" sees about 90 recipes. Is there something I am missing?

There seem to be actually less than 100 recipes

Strange

Not formatted for iPad

Great little app but its not formatted for iPad. It will work on the iPad but the screen is small and the images are not sharp if you zoom to increase screen size.

Cookbook On the Go!

What a GREAT system to have on hand, in my phone, to look for some basic healthy recipes while Im away from home & unable to look for a quick recipe to share! Its well worth the money & the recipes are the healthiest you can get! I love this couple & their recipe books they have designed to share their healthful way of life. For their health & our planet, more people should follow suit by subscribing to a vegan lifestyle & learn to do without animal products, along with using no refined food sources, & less oils, sugars & salt. What have you to lose? How about weighing less, having less health problems, less attention deficit disorders... the list goes on & on. Thank you again for a great app!

Great to have recipes in hand wherever I go...

If I am at home, and wanting a recipe, I usually pull out my McDougall Quick & Easy Cookbook - still my favorite cookbook by far. When Im on the go or standing at the grocery store, wanting to make something special, this is an awesome way to find a recipe quickly. I use the "search by ingredients" function to find recipes using something already in my refrigerator. I love the health tips that pop up. If you are a McDougaller, this is for you! If you are interested in a whole foods diet, this is also for you!

A beginning...

I am a beginner w this way of eating. It would be helpful to see recipes by meal... Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc. also by type...soups, salad dressings, etc... I have been eating low carb for so long that I dont even know what ingredients to put into the search box. I look forward to continued improvements. :)

Good, but needs to include more info

Great app, but I would really like to see the addition of nutritional info pet serving for the recipes-i.e- protein, fat, carbs, fiber, sugars, calories, etc. This would be very helpful for someone trying to make sure that they are consuming enough protein daily.
